Tim Fredrik Edquilag
Hey there! My name is Tim Edquilag. A licensed professional counselor (LPC) in both NJ and AZ. I graduated with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Fairleigh Dickinson University (NJ). I have provided counseling and therapeutic services independently through my private practice (Intuitive Insight) and online platforms since 2015.
Clinically my focus is an Integrative Approach that is Person-Centered with a mix of utilizing techniques, strategies, building insight and agency and tailored to your needs. I have worked with many different populations and issues including: Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, other Mood Disorders, PTSD and Trauma, Adjustment Issues, and more. I have also worked with individuals regarding relationship, family, career, and young adult transition issues, BIPOC issues, and LGBTQ+ issues. Most notably, I also have experience and training in working with Brain Injury Survivors in helping survivors find their "New Normal" after Brain Injury.
My experience as an immigrant and learning to acculturate in the United States has certainly shaped a lot of my identity, my counseling style, and willingness to go beyond acceptance of just seeing racial, cultural, and historical contexts but also trying to better understand these contexts and how they affect how a person navigates their world and their situations. I deeply respect and acknowledge both the similarities, differences, and nuances that race, culture, history, religion, and other intersections have in our personal lives and will incorporate these understandings into our interactions as much as we need.
I look forward to working with you and let us work together towards your creating insight, agency, and reaching your goals. Let's mix your courage to be vulnerable and desire to seek healthy change with intuition and insight to help empower you!
