Amber Sorsek

My name is Amber Sorsek. I have a master’s degree in social work, and have been practicing over 2 years post-graduate school. I am trained to deliver Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. EMDR therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders. My approach to your mental well-being is the same as an orthopedic doctor’s approach to a fractured bone. A bone in the body becomes fractured and that area of the body requires extra care and attention, just like our mental health when life presents challenges; it needs extra care and attention.

I have experience working in a medical setting, private practice, substance use treatment and child protective services. In addition to my work experience, my personal life has awarded me with multiple opportunities. I am a veteran and military spouse. My military experience encompassed embracing multiple titles, which brought me to the perspective that we are all whole individuals in this world together. I have been blessed with people who have helped me during challenging times in my life. I hope to be that someone in your life.

I look forward to meeting you and identifying your inner strengths as well as the opportunity to teach you coping skills for you to use for years to come.
