As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I specialize in assisting people with their emotional well-being by improving awareness and acceptance of themselves. I am particularly passionate about helping children (including 0-5yo) and families feel good about their relationship to each other. In the 17 years I have been working with children and families, I understand how to focus on the specific changes you and your family need to build healthy relationships with each other and out in the world.
After earning my MSW at New York University, I worked in various community mental health organizations and residential facilities as a means to assisting families and supporting my community. This experience built my expertise and comfort in working with all types of trauma, which I continue to provide.
Using my foundational training as a social worker, I value the use of social justice in my practice. I work to maintain awareness of societal oppressions and biases as a means of understanding and providing treatment on a holistic level. An important goal of mine is to practice cultural humility and to radically accept that more than one truth can exist. With this, I maintain an ongoing dedication to providing comfort for a diverse range of clients- racially, culturally and for the LGBTQIA+ community.
Psychodynamic, Relational, Play, Group. I use CBT and DBT skills intermittently as I see appropriate.
