I work with individuals, couples, and groups who are seeking to gain a better understanding of themselves in order to lead happier and more productive lives. I have worked with people experiencing chronic stress, anxiety, depression, relationship and interpersonal issues; navigating periods of transition; or have experienced trauma. With psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, individuals can explore their emotions, behaviors, and relationships, and coaching allows them to identify coping strategies to function more effectively in professional and interpersonal situations, barriers that may prevent them from achieving their goals, and ways in which to overcome those barriers.
My work is informed by using the mind body connection to increase people's attunement to themselves, support increasing flexibility of the mind, and promote healing. I draw on a variety of modalities to tailor my approach to clients needs. I believe it is important for clients to feel empowered and have a sense that they are in control of their healing journey. Through a collaborative process, I work with clients to clarify goals and identify obstacles coming in the way of meeting them. I approach my work with sensitivity and compassion that fosters a safe and productive therapeutic environment.
I am a licensed creative art therapist, somatic experiencing practitioner, trained trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapist, and life coach. I have been helping people through their healing journeys for over 10 years. I have worked in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric units with individuals suffering from mental illnesses and addictions; in NGOs with victims of complex trauma, marginalized communities, and individuals who have engaged in offending behaviors. As a part of my private practice, I have worked with high functioning clients who have benefited from support to identify and reach their goals. I have conducted trainings on the use of creative art therapy to heal trauma for other mental health professionals, wellness
and self-care workshops for lawyers, and guest lectures at Columbia University, NYU and Brooklyn College.
