LeNaya Smith Crawford
Hello! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Registered Play Therapist. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Spelman College and my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy with specializations in Trauma Therapy and Child and Adolescent Therapy from Richmont Graduate University.
In addition to my degrees, I completed my registered yoga teacher (RYT-200) training and is also certified in playful children’s yoga.
With over 10 years of experience, I am passionate about helping clients become happy and healthy! I specialize in working with children, adults, couples, and families with a variety of challenges, including ADHD, anxiety, depression, adoption, attachment, social skill struggles, behavior challenges, friendship/relationship issues, grief and loss, family/life transitions, divorce, identity and low self-esteem.
I take a collaborative approach when working with clients. I believe that my clients have the power to learn and grow; I am there to aid and encourage them along the way. I use fun and unique activities to help clients become invested in the concepts I am teaching and help clients create reminders to implement the concepts and strategies outside of therapy. I use play, art, mindfulness, yoga and movement in therapy, helping clients work through their challenges more effectively at their own pace while emphasizing their strengths.
I am also a featured parenting expert for the Huff post and enjoy working with parents who need some extra support.
I hope to get the chance to work with you!
