Joanne C. Ongsitco
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Board Certified National Counselor (NCC), and a Level II Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-II). My therapeutic approach involves compassionate rigorous honesty and cultivating willingness for vulnerability and authenticity, while collaboratively walking alongside you as we work through your healing, growth, and life transitions toward living a purposeful and fulfilling life. My inquisitive nature provides space for us to explore what the most appropriate therapeutic approach would be for you as we begin and continue to work together -- whether it's online or in-person.
I specialize in addressing cultural stress, generational pressures, trauma, as well as working with substance use and addiction issues and the consequent impacts they come with including relational and family conflicts, career, academics. I believe in the power and strength of support, psychoeducation, and developing acceptance in leading a fulfilling life.
If you are motivated, willing, and open to the challenge of working through your uncertainty and vulnerability, you are ready for counseling. It takes immense courage to recognize we may need help and be able to ask for it despite feelings of anxiety, fear, and apprehension. You are in the right place at the right time. Let me help you find your balance.
