Dr. Kimberly Diggles
I have been working as a therapist for nearly 15 years. My educational background includes a BS in psychology and a MEd in Counseling from Texas Christian University. I eventually traded in my cowboy boots for snow boots in order to attend the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities where I earned a PhD in Family Social Science (with an emphasis in Couples' & Family Therapy). As an African American woman, I embrace the role that culture and gender play in creating our struggles, as well as manifesting our resiliency. While earning my PhD, my areas of research focused on multi-cultural family issues, therapy as an act of social justice, and creating racially consciously therapist training programs, a study that was eventually published. As well as working as a private practice therapist, I supervise a mental health clinic at a non-profit mental health agency in Anaheim, California.
