Dr. Joyce Yang
I use evidence-based therapy to treat a range of concerns including race-based stress, post-traumatic stress (PTSD), anxiety, insomnia, depression, loneliness, and interpersonal difficulties. I earned my doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the University of Washington, completed my pre-doctoral internship in Behavioral Medicine at VA Palo Alto Health Care System, and received my postdoctoral fellowship training at Stanford University School of Medicine.
In meeting each of my clients, I apply the dialectical balance between acceptance and change, holding firm that “at each moment we are all doing the best we can, and we can also do better”. As a radical behaviorist, I work primarily from Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Functional Analytic Psychotherapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, in order to enable my clients to find ways to live more fully.
