Dr. Josetta Cobb
Hi, my name is Josetta Cobb. I am purposed to empower and help others unearth longstanding unhealthy cycles, disrupt negative thinking patterns, and learn new skills to live a healthy fulfilling life. I have a passion for counseling and teaching which enables me to meet you where you are, help to get unstuck and move forward in life.
I hold a BA in Sociology and Criminal Justice Administration, a MA in Professional Mental Health Counseling and a PhD in Christian Counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, and a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, through the Examiner for Licensure for License Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Counselors, Addiction Counselor and Pyscho-Education Specialist with South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation. I am also a Certified Addictions Counselor II through the South Carolina Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors.
Specialized in treating adolescents, adults and families; I treat depression, anxiety, trauma, sexual trauma, life transitions, marital problems, substance abuse and other emotional issues that cause disruption in life. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) Cognitive Processing Therapy for childhood sexual abuse (CPT S/A), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Christian Counseling all with the ability to advance healing and recovery.
