Dr. Edith Langford
Dr. Langford has a PhD in Research, Statistics and Evaluation. She has over two decades of experience, as a social scientist and an academic with particular interests in Islamic issues, women's Issues, substance abuse, couples mediation and counseling, gang prevention, recovery therapy, relationship counseling, and No Talk, art therapy. Her work history includes 20 years as an independent research consultant to Federal, State and local governments designing and evaluating, counseling, crime prevention and drug treatment programs.
She is Program Director for Brooklyn Art Incubator, Inc., a non-profit focused on utilizing the arts to help at-risk youth. As an Academic she has worked as an Adjunct Professor at St John's University in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology as well as the College of New Rochelle, Graduate School of Psychology teaching Research Methodology for the Social Sciences and Graduate Counseling Courses.
In relation to her master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, she maintains a clinical private practice offering psychotherapy. She is certified in tele-therapy. She is licensed in Alabama and New York State as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHC and LPC. She is Also Credentialed in both states as an Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor.
From Brooklyn, New York, she currently spends much of her time on the eastern gulf shores region, she is married and her nuclear family consists of 6 children 2 grand children. Her leisure interests include international travel. And, disaster victim relief and crisis debriefing counseling.
