Dr. David Botsford
Dr. Dave Botsford is a Licensed Clinical and Sport Psychologist with iPerformance Consultants in Santa Barbara California as well as the Clinical and Sport Psychologist for the University of California Santa Barbara Athletics Department where he provides mental health counseling and performance psychology consultation for DI collegiate student athletes.
Dr. Dave has always been driven to support individuals interested in improving their personal functioning and performance within areas of sport, music/dance, business, relationships, and various other performance disciplines.
Dr. Dave works from a strengths based perspective to help individuals better utilize the knowledge, skills, and awareness they have already developed in other areas of life and apply these to their current presenting concerns. Being mentally tough and resilient during difficult times does not require us to handle everything on our own. True courage requires vulnerability in acknowledging that we do not know it all or can handle everything we experience, yet. Being able to make adjustments in line with our values and accept those aspects of human experience that are unchangeable can allow us to move forward toward the goals, experiences, and relationships that are most meaningful.
Dr. Dave completed his doctoral degree in clinical psychology at the Arizona School of Professional Psychology, including an APA accredited internship at the University of Oklahoma Counseling Center/Athletics Department. Additionally, Dr. Dave has a Master of Science degree in Sport Psychology from the University of Utah and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Ithaca College.
