BIOGRAPHY
Delphine Gervais obtained both her graduate and undergraduate degrees in Social Work in the South Florida region. Delphine is the president of her private practice, Breakthrough Care and Resource Center, Inc. where she provides psychotherapy to individuals, couples and families. Her ten years as a Miami-Dade County Public Schools School Social Worker and TRUST Counselor consisted of various roles that emphasized work with at-risk student populations. Her work in public-charter education as a Dean of School Culture and Climate consisted of promoting positive school norms with emphasis on positive behavior support.
Her experiences include early childhood, adult and adolescent mental health counseling, elderly community-based intervention services, employment referrals services, non-profit program coordination and management, provision of intervention/prevention services in faith-based, adjunct faculty teaching, secondary education, library and medical settings, with emphasis on at-risk groups and immigrant populations. Delphine also serves in contractual roles with various community agencies providing consulting services.
Delphine is unabashed in sharing that her immigrant upbringing in Little Haiti, Florida has shaped her worldview of social work's potential for further impact on local, national and global communities.
