Delia was born and raised in South America, immigrating to the United States twelve years ago. As an immigrant and native Spanish speaker, Delia is able to offer a cross-cultural approach to her counseling, which is of importance to the diverse community she serves in the Bay Area. Delia completed a BA in Sociology from Universidad Central del Ecuador in 2006. In 2012, she graduated from the California Institute of Integral Studies with an M.A. in Counseling. She has volunteered and worked in the mental health field, providing services to members of the community who are most in need. Drawing on her bilingual communication skills, Delia has provided counseling to adults, children and their families. She has facilitated psychoeducational and process-oriented groups in both English and Spanish. She specializes in providing psychotherapy services and immigration evaluations. Delia works with adults, youths and families focusing on PTSD, anxiety, depression, domestic violence, parenting, relational, and immigration issues. In addition, she is a Somatic practitioner-in-training. She's currently working towards being certified as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), an approach in healing trauma from a body/mind oriented.
