Chris Avila is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the state of Texas. Chris identifies as a queer, biracial Latinx and prefers they/them or he/his pronouns. Chris completed his Master's in Social Work at UT Arlington. They have also completed a certificate in gerontology from UT Arlington, EMDR training, and emotion focused therapy externship (EFT). Currently, Chris works for Realistic Expectations, PLLC, a private group practice in Richardson, Texas and, Chris works with adolescents (14+), adults, couples, and families with a focus on racial identity, LGBTQIA+, kink/BDSM, poly/consensual nonmonogamy, and trauma. Chris has previous experience in home health, hospice, community development, community presentations, and adjunct professor at University of Texas at Arlington including the Diverse Populations course for several semesters.
