Hi, my name is Brian Kimmel. I use they/them pronouns or anything with respect. I am a fully licensed, Masters level trained Mental Health Counselor in Washington State focusing on adult individuals, couples, and families. I have over 6 years of experience working with communities of color in crisis prevention and intervention, survivors, LGBTQI+, gender non-conforming, polyamourous, monogamous, and allies. I was born and raised in the Seattle area in a mixed family of European, Eurasian, and Indigenous Asian/Pacific Islander nationalities and descents, mainly identifying from traditions related to the Indonesian archipelago. I specialize in humanistic body-mind counseling and psychotherapy. Combined experiences and lifelong work as a dedicated spiritual teacher, artist, healer, and dance / movement educator form a rich foundation from which my counseling approach is supported.
You are Courageous, Creative, and Dedicated. We will work together through issues related to power, anxiety-depression, trauma, identity, and life transitions. We do this through cultivating supportive relationships, nervous system regulation, and creative expression.
Video, phone, and in-person sessions when available are offered weekly Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, including day time and evening appointments. Sliding-Scale through Open Path Network, Wellspring EAP including Microsoft CARES, Out of Network insurance through courtesy billing, and Self Pay through check, cash, or credit card are accepted payment options.
I am privileged to live and work on land stewarded since time immemorial by Coast Salish Peoples, near sacred waterways, towering trees, and the ever-changing landscape of a growing, American city. Of concrete, glass, steel, gardens, people of all professions and traditions, animals and life-sustaining minerals and plants, this is a collective, a world so much better with you in it. Come, let's brave this daring path together.
