My name is Anita Tenzera and I am a licensed mental health counselor. I provide therapeutic services for adults and children.
I have extensive experience assisting clients with trauma, anxiety, depression, internal conflicts, mood disorders, bipolar disorder, family and marital conflicts. I utilizes a variety of treatment modalities based on what each person needs such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness Based Practices, Brainspotting Therapy, and Gottman Couples Modality.
The more I learned about mental health, the more I was committed to help people live their fullest potential. You may be impacted by daily stressors that bring about anxiety, depression, and loss of motivation. You may feel stuck and unable to move forward in achieving more in life, or wonder what is your purpose. I commend you on your bravery in deciding to look inside and contribute to your personal-internal growth.
The modality that I work with the most is Brainspotting; “Where you look affects how you feel”. Brainspotting helps with processing the emotions and traumas that are stuck in our body through aches, pain, anxiety, depression, flashbacks, and performance anxiety. It works on deeper levels of the brain where trauma is remembered and affects your daily life.
Another modality I work with is Gottman Method for couples. Dr.’s John and Julie Gottman have developed interventions that increase intimacy, respect, and affection in a relationship while disarming conflicting verbal communication. They have over 20 years of research behind them showing the effectiveness of Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
I am a bilingual speaking (Croatian/English) marriage and family therapist and I work with individuals, couples, the youth, adults, and families of all ethnic backgrounds, religions, and sexual orientations.
